Welcome to OpenTrans AI. By installing our Chrome Extension or using our website, you agree to be bound by the following terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Description of Service

OpenTrans AI is a browser-based writing assistant that provides grammar correction, translation, and text rewriting services using Google Chrome's Built-in AI (Gemini Nano).

  • Local Processing: You acknowledge that AI processing occurs locally on your device. Service availability depends on your browser's compatibility with Chrome's AI features.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • Registration: AI writing, grammar check, smart reply, and related extension features require a free OpenTrans account (Google or email sign-in). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • Data Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and current information (such as your email address) for account management.

3. Public Beta & Free Use

OpenTrans AI is currently offered as a free public beta. During this phase, you may use the service without payment or a credit card.

  • Beta nature: The service may contain bugs, interruptions, or changes without prior notice as we improve the product.
  • No fees during beta: We do not charge for core beta access described on our website and Chrome Web Store listing.

4. User Conduct and Content

  • Ownership: You retain full ownership of any text you input or process through OpenTrans AI. We do not claim any rights to your content.
  • Prohibited Use: You agree not to use OpenTrans AI to:
    • Generate or spread illegal, harmful, or hateful content.
    • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension.
    • Interfere with the service's normal operation.

5. AI Disclaimer (Important)

  • Accuracy: You understand that AI technology is experimental. OpenTrans AI may occasionally provide inaccurate, incomplete, or biased information (commonly known as "hallucinations").
  • User Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying any AI-generated text before using it in any professional, legal, or high-stakes context.

6. Privacy

Your use of the service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data (such as email) and our commitment to local AI processing.

7. Intellectual Property

The software, logos, designs, and branding of OpenTrans AI are the exclusive property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for personal or business purposes.
